Set amongst umbrella-pines and lakes, with the Ria Formosa National Park in the background, Quinta do Lago is an exceptional golf course by any standards, being used regularly for the Portuguese Open. Quinta do Lago now has two 18 hole, Par 72 courses. The first, a 6,236-metre course, was designed by W. Mitchell in 1974 and the second, with 6,025-metres, by Joe Lee and W. Roquemore in 1989.
